Got a blender or food processor on hand? Save your hard-earned cash and whip up your own hummus from scratch!
1 can chickpeas
3 tablespoons olive oil
2-3 tablespoons lemon juice (to taste)
1.5 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed paste)
2 cloves garlic, crushed
salt & pepper, to taste
water, for desired consistency
- Place the chickpeas and olive oil in a food processor or blender, and pulse several times, stopping to scrape down the sides.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until creamy. Add water to reach your desired consistency.
- Refrigerate until serving, then dust with paprika and drizzle with olive oil.
